Overview

Kenya Uncovered is an innovative travel app that allows users to share and discover new destinations and travel experiences. With this app, users can post and see what their friends are posting, allowing them to stay up to date on the latest travel trends and recommendations.

Problem

The client approached Nix Designs with an idea for a new app and provided us with a list of user stories to guide development. They emphasized the need for the app to be user-friendly, visually appealing with eye-catching colors, and highly functional.

Solution

The team and I used the user stories provided by the client to create a clear plan for implementing the desired features in the app.

By following a structured planning process, the team and I were able to successfully implement a clear login path and various functionalities for the app, including the ability for users to post pictures, save itineraries, and plan for future travel.

UI Design

I moved on to design the final screens in Figma. My goal was to create a visual identity that's aligned with the brand's values and message, which is: "Discover Kenya". Also, I've checked the competition and took a deep dive into my catalog of references for inspiration.

Wireframes

Using Figma, I translated my first sketches into low fidelity wireframes, I moved on to creating a greyscale wireframe in Figma to demonstrate the intended user experience and interactions within the app. These wireframes gave us a solid foundation for figuring out how to convey the intended log-in flow.
